Biodegradable

A biodegradable material can break down naturally through the action of microorganisms over time. However, biodegradability alone does not automatically define the environmental performance or end-of-life pathway of a packaging material.

Compostable

Compostable materials are designed to break down under specified composting conditions and, where certified, can convert into compostable outputs without toxic residue.

Plastic-Free

Plastic-free packaging solutions are designed without conventional plastic polymers and may use paper, cellulose, natural-fibre or bio-based materials depending on the structure.

Recyclable

Recyclable packaging can be collected and processed into new materials or products, subject to the material structure and availability of suitable recycling infrastructure.
